The great part about Grand Lake is that it's just south of Rocky Mountain National Park, so you don't need any special permits or timed entry to access it. But you still get a fantastic mountain lake with gorgeous mountain views! Grand Lake is the absolute cutest little mountain town you've ever seen and absolutely gorgeous in the fall. If you're planning a fall mountain wedding, this spot really can't be beaten.
A popular place to get married on Grand Lake is at Point Park. There's a pavilion and an open space that can accommodate chairs and up to about 60 guests that you can rent. It has a fantastic view of the mountains as it sits practically lakeside. It wouldn’t accommodate that many guests if you wanted to bring in catering but there are plenty of places close by to take your guests or you and your new spouse and go!
A short skip, jump, and a hop down a dirt trail leads you to a dock that juts out into the lake, which is perfect for photographs. The trail leading from the parking lot to the lake is awash in aspens so just imagine what this location looks like in September! Way too gorgeous!
It's less than a 3-hour drive from Denver International Airport, which also makes it pretty convenient for out-of-town guests. If you didn't want to stay in Grand Lake itself, Estes Park is just northeast of this location, after driving through Rocky Mountain National Park.
And that's why I think you should get married at Grand Lake.
